OSPAAAL STATEMENT IN SOLIDARITY WITH AHMED SAADAT AND ALL PALESTINIAN PRISONERS IN ZIONIST PRISONS

The Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) addresses all friendly organizations and parties, solidarity committees with Palestine, social movements in Latin America and the Caribbean, regional governments and parliaments, progressive and peace-loving persons to express its most decided rejection of the Zionist regime in Israel because of the continued abuses and vexations it commits against the Palestinian prisoners in Zionist prisons.

On this particular occasion, the OSPAAAL expresses its solidarity with the heroic and firm resistance of comrade Ahmad Saadat, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FPLP), who is isolated in a punishment cell since last March 17 and carried out a hunger strike between June 6 and 15 with the purpose of defending the cause of the Palestinian war prisoners and protest the most recent reprisals perpetrated by the Zionist regime against him and his colleagues.

Comrade Saadat is enduring severe punishments and both physical and psychological torture because of his political positions and his leadership in the resistance and struggle against the Israeli occupation.

The OSPAAAL reiterates its firm solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in Zionist prisons and demands their immediate liberation and respect to their essential rights. With more energy than ever we demand that the Israeli troops retreat from all Arab territories occupied since 1967, as established by the pertinent United Nations resolutions. We reaffirm the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to create an independent State of their own in Gaza and the West Bank, with capital in East Jerusalem, which is the sole form of achieving peace in the Middle East.

Sa’adat receives further punishment from the occupation as solidarity continues around the world

FREE AHMED SA’ADAT

Ahmad Sa’adat’s steadfastness has inspired solidarity and action from thousands across Palestine, throughout the Arab world, and internationally. His nine-day hunger strike has drawn attention to the brutal, illegitimate practices of the Israeli prison authorities, and the urgent situation of the over 11,000 Palestinian prisoners.
Sa’adat, the imprisoned General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was forcibly kidnapped in 2006 by the Israeli military from a Palestinian Authority prison where he had been held since 2002 under PA, British and U.S. guard, and has become a symbol of resistance. Throughout his seven years of imprisonment, he has refused entirely to recognize the legitimacy of Israeli military courts used against Palestinian prisoners.
A new set of punishments have been issued against Sa’adat following his nine-day hunger strike against the occupation’s denial of prisoners rights, won through long struggle, and the policy of solitary confinement.

As an example of some of the solidarity actions with Sa’adat around the world, please see:

CMKP Condemns Zionist Aggression

CMKP Condemns Zionist Aggression,

Supports Palestinian Resistance

The Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party (CMKP – Communist Workers and Peasants Party) of Pakistan vehemently condemns the massacre carried out against the Palestinian people by the Zionist State of Israel, in explicit cooperation with US imperialism.

Israel is a racist and colonial settler-State. Given the hostile attitude of the State of Israel towards the Palestinian people for the last 60 years, the people of Palestine have the legitimate moral right to defend themselves against Zionist aggression through armed struggle. The CMKP, therefore, extends full support by all means possible to the Palestinian resistance.

CMKP also condemns the cowardly reaction from the Arab rulers who side with U.S. imperialism and Zionism against the working people of their own countries. The despicable role played by the Hosni Mubarik in keeping the Rafah border crossing closed to the Palestinian refugees and humanitarian aid has increased manifold the miseries of the Palestinian people. The Arab leaders must know that at present, their silence is no less than complicity.

CMKP salutes the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the leadership of Comrade Ahmed Sa’adat in particular, for remaining steadfast in the face of Zionist aggression. CMKP assures Comrade Sa’adat and PFLP that the oppressed people of the world will continue their struggle against U.S. imperialism and Zionism until the world is liberated from oppression.

The actions of the Zionist Entity and the plight of the Palestinian people remind the oppressed people of the world of their grim colonial past and their own suffering under the colonial system. For this reason, the people of the world will forever share a historic bond with the Palestinian struggle. The Palestinian struggle for independence is an international struggle of the oppressed people of the world, with the people of Palestine in the vanguard, against Imperialism and colonial oppression.

Long live the Palestinian resistance!

Long live the PFLP and the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades!

Long live the revolution!

Death to Zionism!

Death to US imperialism!
